How Portfolio Rebalancing Works

1

Set your target allocation. Decide what percentage of your portfolio each coin should represent (e.g., 50% BTC, 30% ETH, 20% SOL).

2

Enter your current holdings. Input the amount of each coin you currently hold. The tool fetches live prices to calculate your current allocation.

3

Execute the trades. The tool tells you exactly how much of each coin to buy or sell to match your targets. Execute these trades on your exchange.

Rebalancing Tips

Rebalance on a schedule, not on emotion. Set a regular interval (monthly or quarterly) to rebalance. This forces you to sell winners and buy losers — a disciplined contrarian approach that historically improves risk-adjusted returns.

Use threshold-based rebalancing. Only rebalance when an asset drifts more than 5-10% from its target. This reduces trading fees and tax events while still maintaining your desired risk profile.

Consider tax implications. Selling to rebalance may trigger capital gains taxes. In taxable accounts, consider rebalancing by directing new deposits into underweight assets rather than selling overweight ones.

Don't over-diversify. Research suggests that beyond 5-7 uncorrelated assets, the diversification benefit diminishes rapidly. A focused portfolio of 3-5 high-conviction positions often outperforms a scattered 20-coin portfolio.
